Original Beldi Black Soap & Traditional Moroccan Kees

Two essentials. The beginning of your Moroccan hammam.

Start with the pairing at the heart of the ritual: olive-based Beldi soap to cleanse, followed by a textured Kees glove for gentle body exfoliation.

The Hammam Essentials brings these two steps together in one simple set. Add warm water, your usual moisturizer and a little time for yourself.

Cleanse. Rinse. Gently exfoliate. Make the moment yours.

Moroccan Hammam Duo · Original Beldi Soap · Reusable Kees · Body Cleansing & Exfoliation

What is included?

Product Size Its role
Beldi Black Soap Original 100g Olive-based soap paste for the rinse-off body-cleansing step.
Traditional Hammam Kees One glove Textured viscose mitt for gentle physical body exfoliation.

Follow each product’s label for complete ingredients, directions and care instructions.

Why do Beldi and Kees belong together?

They perform different jobs in a familiar sequence.

Beldi cleanses. Its soft paste spreads over wet skin and washes away everyday dirt and excess surface oil.

The Kees exfoliates. Once the soap is rinsed away, the glove’s textured fabric creates friction against damp skin to lift away loose surface skin cells.

You do not need to turn the soap into a scrub or apply it directly to the glove.

The traditional order: Beldi first. Rinse thoroughly. Then Kees.

Why choose this set?

  • Start simply: two products with clearly defined roles.

  • Explore Moroccan bathing traditions: bring the Beldi-and-Kees sequence into your own bathroom.

  • Adapt the ritual: use Beldi alone when you do not want exfoliation.

  • Control the pressure: keep glove movements light and leave sensitive areas alone.

  • Reuse your Kees: clean and dry it properly between sessions.

The aim is freshly cleansed, smoother-feeling skin—not a harsh scrub or a tight, stripped finish.

Who is it for?

This set is for adults who want to try a traditional Moroccan body-care ritual and whose skin tolerates soap and physical exfoliation.

It is a simple starting point if you prefer fewer products and want to understand the core hammam sequence before adding optional steps.

For very dry, eczema-prone or reactive skin, a gentle soap-free cleanser may be a better choice. Exfoliation is optional, even when the glove is part of your set.

Your at-home ritual, step by step

1. Prepare your space

Have your Beldi, Kees, towel and usual body moisturizer ready.

Remove a small portion of soap with a clean utensil so the jar can stay away from running shower water.

2. Begin with comfortably warm water

Wet your body and allow a little time for your skin to soften.

A warm shower is enough. There is no need for very hot water, intense steam or a prolonged soak.

3. Apply a thin layer of Beldi

Spread a little soap over wet body skin, adding water in your palm if needed to help it glide.

Avoid your face, eyes, intimate areas and any broken or irritated skin.

Follow the directions on your packaging. Our current Beldi directions recommend around 5–10 minutes, according to comfort. Rinse sooner if uncomfortable and immediately if it burns or stings.

4. Rinse the soap away completely

Do this before using the glove.

A slippery soap layer is not the surface you want for controlled Kees use.

5. Wet your Kees

Thoroughly wet the glove, then gently squeeze out excess water.

Keep your skin damp. Do not use it on dry skin.

6. Exfoliate with a light hand

Start on a small area with a few gentle, controlled strokes.

Avoid repeated passes over the same patch. Do not press harder to force visible rolls to appear, and stop if your skin feels sore.

You can leave out delicate areas or skip the glove entirely that day.

7. Rinse and moisturize

Rinse away loosened residue, gently pat dry and apply your usual body moisturizer.

Comfort is the finish you are looking for.

Do I need to use the Kees every time?

No. You can use Beldi as a rinse-off cleanser without exfoliating.

For your first experience, try the soap on its own before introducing the glove on a separate occasion. That makes it easier to understand how your skin responds to each part.

What if no visible rolls appear?

Do not scrub harder.

Visible residue varies and can include loosened skin cells and product residue. It is not a reliable measure of cleanliness or proof that the ritual has worked.

Your skin does not need to produce a dramatic result to deserve gentle care.

Small tricks for a better ritual

Use a thin layer of soap. More product does not automatically mean better cleansing.

Rinse before the glove. Keep the two steps separate.

Start gently. Learn how the Kees feels before covering a larger area.

Adjust by body area. Your chest and inner arms may need less friction than your legs.

Keep aftercare familiar. Finish with a moisturizer you already know suits your skin.

Let your skin set the schedule. You do not need to repeat the ritual simply because a week has passed.

What can I add later?

The duo is complete as a cleansing-and-exfoliation pairing. You can explore additional products separately if you wish.

Optional product How it fits
Atlas Ghassoul Clay A separate rinse-off mask. Save it for another day if your skin feels tender after the Kees.
Argan Oil A small finishing touch after moisturizer, if your skin tolerates it.
Tabrima Ritual Powder An alternative botanical body step. Avoid combining vigorous powder massage with glove exfoliation.

These products are sold separately.

Your usual moisturizer is the most useful addition to have ready from the start.

What should I avoid?

  • Adding salt, sugar or coarse powders to the glove.

  • Combining the session with strong exfoliating acids or peeling products.

  • Using the Kees on dry skin.

  • Repeatedly scrubbing darker patches.

  • Applying the soap or glove to your face or intimate areas.

  • Continuing through burning, soreness or irritation.

After shaving, waxing, laser or a peel, allow skin to recover and follow your practitioner’s aftercare instructions.

How often should I use the set?

Treat Beldi-and-Kees exfoliation as an occasional routine rather than a default daily habit.

Your skin type, pressure and other products all affect what you tolerate. Allow your skin to recover fully between sessions.

If you develop persistent tightness, flaking, redness or tenderness, pause and reassess.

Your Hammam Essentials questions, answered

  • Do I need a bathtub or steam room? No. A comfortably warm shower and space to rinse thoroughly are enough.
  • Is this a full-body scrub? It is a body cleanser paired with an exfoliating tool. You choose which areas to exfoliate rather than automatically scrubbing everywhere.
  • Can I use the soap directly on the Kees? For the traditional sequence described here, apply Beldi to your skin, rinse it away, then use the damp Kees separately.
  • Does the set lighten skin? We do not claim whitening or pigmentation treatment. Surface cleansing and exfoliation do not change your natural skin tone.
  • Does it treat ingrown hairs or body acne? This set is not a treatment for either. Avoid scrubbing inflamed bumps and seek appropriate care for persistent concerns.
  • Should my skin turn red? Redness is not the goal. Stop if your skin becomes uncomfortable or tender.
  • Can I use it before an event? Try the products well beforehand. Avoid making an important occasion your first experiment with a new exfoliating routine.
  • Can I share the glove? We recommend keeping the Kees for personal use. Give each person their own glove.
  • How long will the set last? That depends on how much soap you use, the areas treated and glove care. We do not promise a fixed number of sessions.
  • Is moisturizer included? No. This set contains Original Beldi Black Soap and one Traditional Hammam Kees. Finish with a suitable moisturizer from your existing routine.

How to care for your set

Beldi: keep tightly closed and protect the jar from shower water. Use a clean utensil and do not return unused soap.

Kees: rinse away residue, gently wash according to its care instructions and rinse thoroughly. Allow it to dry completely in a ventilated place rather than leaving it crumpled in the shower.

Replace the glove if it tears, becomes unevenly abrasive or develops persistent odour or visible mould.

Follow the soap’s storage and expiry information.

Begin with the essentials

Warm water. Original Beldi. A thorough rinse. A gentle hand with your Kees.
