Why you’ll love it

  • Begin your hammam beautifully: a smooth cleansing paste before your optional Kees step.

  • Bring the ritual home: warm water, your Beldi and time for yourself.

What is it?

Beldi, also known as savon beldi or Moroccan black soap, is a traditional soft soap used in Moroccan hammam rituals.

Its rich, paste-like texture spreads over wet body skin in a thin layer. Unlike a grainy scrub, its primary job is cleansing. Once rinsed away, a Kees glove can provide a separate physical exfoliation step.

This version brings Nila into the familiar Beldi ritual, giving the cleansing paste its distinctive blue character.

Beldi cleanses. The Kees exfoliates. Your moisturizer completes the ritual.

What is Nila?

Nila is a name used for blue cosmetic powders associated with Moroccan beauty rituals.

The name alone does not establish a powder’s exact composition or origin. Check your product’s ingredient declaration for the specific Nila used in this formula.

Here, Nila is incorporated into a rinse-off body soap. Choose it for its place in Moroccan beauty traditions and the experience of the finished cleanser.

What is it made of?

An olive-based Moroccan Beldi soap with Nila.

The soap base provides the cleansing action, while Nila gives this version its distinctive identity. Refer to your packaging for the complete ingredient list and any allergy information.

What makes the Nila version different?

Its signature blue character brings another side of Moroccan beauty into your hammam.

It follows the same familiar sequence as Original Beldi: apply to wet skin, rinse thoroughly, then gently exfoliate if desired.

We do not promise skin whitening, dark-spot removal or a change to your natural skin tone. Its role is cleansing within a Moroccan body-care ritual.

Your Moroccan hammam, step by step

1. Begin with warm water
Wet your body with comfortably warm water. A warm shower is enough to begin.

2. Spread a thin layer
Take out a small portion with a clean utensil and apply to wet body skin. Add a little water in your palm if needed to help it glide.

Avoid your face, eyes, intimate areas and broken or irritated skin.

3. Follow your packaging directions
Use the contact time stated on your label. Rinse sooner if uncomfortable, and immediately if you feel burning, itching or stinging.

4. Rinse thoroughly
Wash away the soap and any visible colour residue before reaching for your Kees.

5. Exfoliate gently, if desired
Wet your Kees, squeeze out excess water and use light, controlled strokes on damp skin. Avoid repeated passes over the same area and skip exfoliation if your skin feels tender.

6. Finish with moisture
Rinse again, gently pat dry and apply your usual body moisturizer.

Warm water. Beldi. Rinse. Kees. Moisturize.

Make the ritual yours

Pair it with Its place in your ritual
Traditional Hammam Kees Gently exfoliate after rinsing the soap away completely.
Atlas Ghassoul Clay Enjoy a separate, freshly mixed clay step if your skin remains comfortable.
Your usual body moisturizer Apply after bathing as your main moisturizing step.
Pure Moroccan Argan Oil Add a small finishing touch after moisturizer, if your skin tolerates it.

Little details that make a better hammam

  • Portion before you shower. Keep the original jar away from running water.

  • Apply a thin layer. More soap does not mean better cleansing.

  • Rinse before exfoliating. Keep the Beldi and Kees steps separate.

  • Protect pale fabrics. Rinse your skin, hands and shower surfaces thoroughly before reaching for your towel.

  • Keep the pressure gentle. Your skin should feel comfortable after the ritual.

Your questions, answered

  • Will it lighten my skin or remove dark spots?
We do not make those claims. This is a rinse-off body cleanser, not a treatment for pigmentation or a product intended to change your natural skin tone.
  • Will the blue colour stain?
Colour transfer or temporary residue may occur. Test a discreet area first, rinse thoroughly and avoid contact with pale towels, clothing and porous surfaces.
  • Is it the same as using Nila powder?
No. This is a finished soap containing Nila. Follow its cleansing directions rather than using it as a leave-on powder mask.
  • Do I need a Kees?
No. You can use Beldi as a rinse-off body cleanser on its own. The Kees adds optional physical exfoliation after rinsing.
  • Can I use it on my face?
We recommend it for the body. Choose a cleanser suited to your facial skin and keep the body Kees away from your face.
  • Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Traditional soap may not suit very dry, eczema-prone or reactive skin. Check the ingredients and test a small area using the rinse-off directions before wider use.
  • How often should I use it?
Treat the Beldi-and-Kees combination as an occasional ritual. Adjust to your skin’s response and leave out exfoliation whenever skin feels dry, sore or tender.
  • Can I use it after shaving, waxing or laser?
Allow your skin to recover first and follow your practitioner’s aftercare instructions. Avoid broken, freshly irritated or inflamed areas.
  • Can I add more Nila powder?
Use the finished soap as supplied. Adding extra powder changes the formula and may increase residue or irritation without establishing better results.
  • Do I still need moisturizer?
Yes. Finish with your usual body moisturizer; a rinse-off soap does not replace that step.

Keep your Beldi at its best

Store tightly closed, away from direct heat and standing shower water. Use a clean utensil to remove each portion, keep water out of the jar and follow the storage and expiry information on your packaging.
